What makes a place so special that glaciers part around it, leaving it unscathed? The Driftless Region, named for the lack of glacial drift, was spared by the advancing glaciers of the ice age. It is a land of steep hills and deep valleys carved by spring-fed streams, hidden pockets of wonder and diverse micro-ecosystems. It is the topography of our hearts.
