Lake Macbride Classic

The Lake Macbride Fat Tire Classic is a Fat Bike Event like no other. Presented by Sugar Bottom Bikes and The Solon Centennial Lions Club, the Race will take you around scenic Lake Macbride on twisty pea gravel, flowing singletrack, scenic beaches, blazing fast double track, hilly and steep snowmobile trails, challenging hiking trails, and scenic gravel roads. For those looking for a more casual experience, the 10 Mile Fat Fun Ride may be for you. Many of the trails in the Tace are not permitted for bikes EXCEPT on race day, so this is your only chance to ride them! The fast end of the 30 mile race has finished at around 2 hours with the back end of the race taking as long as 5 1/2 hours. As always, for 2024 we will have a new but equally challenging course for ya'll. Expect a lot of the same stuff you've seen in years past with some added surprises of course!

The St. Croix 40 Winter Ultra is a winter survivalist race in the same spirit as the Arrowhead 135 and Tuscobia 160. Participants travel roughly 40 miles through St. Croix State Park on foot, ski, or fat bike, carrying all essential survival gear through a cold Minnesota night.

Sap Run Scramble 2023

If you'd like to run/hike/scramble through our woods during syrup season, you're in luck! We're hosting the second annual Sap Run Scramble at our farm on Saturday, March 18th. This is a slippery, muddy, non-competitve 5K with 1000 feet of elevation and tasty maple-based snack stops every kilometer or so. The trail treks through our maple forest during the heart of syrup season, a uniquely beautiful and fascinating time of year. Come out and play, taste tasty things and learn about the forest we call home. Bring a friend and stock up on Good Energy!

The city of Viroqua is gearing up to celebrate the return of the annual Twinklefest Parade on Friday, November 25 at 6 pm. Traditionally held the Friday after Thanksgiving, Twinklefest is a dazzling parade featuring twinkling floats and entries of all types decked out in extravagant lights. The parade goes through the heart of downtown, and kicks off the holiday season.

Join Bluedog Cycles for the pertNear 20, a mountain bike race that explores Vernon Trails' sustainably managed trail networks at Hubbard Hills, Rusty Ridge, and Sidie Hollow. This all day event includes a kids race, a pert near 10 mile race and the all encompassing pert near 20 mile race. Both short and long courses will feature a brand new, nearly 2 mile long descent on the Eastern mountain (previously undeveloped). We'll all be gathering and celebrating at the Sidie Hollow County Park Pavilion, where the VTAC NICA team will be feeding us with their chili cook off.

Minnesota Voyageur 50 Mile Trail Ultramarathon

Founded in 1982, the Minnesota Voyageur 50 Mile Trail Ultramarathon is one of the oldest trail ultras in the nation. The race follows a rugged, varied, out-and-back course that takes runners on a journey from Carlton, MN through Jay Cooke State Park and heads northeast over difficult, rough woodland trails to Duluth, MN and back. Enjoy scenic overlooks of Duluth, MN and Lake Superior, the iconic Swinging Bridge over the St. Louis River, and the infamous Power Lines. Embark Maple will be captaining an aid station!

Eugene Curnow Trail Run

The Eugene Curnow Trail Marathon is run over rough woodland trails on a point-to-point course from the Spirit Mt. Ski Area near Duluth, MN to Carlton. The course encompasses one leg of the Minnesota Voyageur Trail Ultramarathon, plus a bit extra to equal 26.2 miles. Initially, it was developed as support for the Voyageur 50 Mile; offered as a thank you to Voyageur volunteers and an introduction to the course for those not ready for a full fifty miles. It has become a wildly popular race in its own right. Embark Maple will be captioning an aid station!
